Technical, Tactical, Mental Total Player Development
Our camp is rooted in the core values aligning with United States Soccer's initiatives: growing the game, creating the best playing environments, and building winning teams through the development of soccer intelligence, leadership, and mental toughness. We focus on building players’ soccer IQ while also developing resilience, leadership, and a positive mindset both on and off the field.
Our camp curriculum is structured around the acronym APPLE:
ATTITUDE
Players will learn how a positive attitude shapes performance both in soccer and life. From field exercises to classroom discussions, they'll explore how mindset impacts their approach to challenges.
Positivity:
Through engaging activities and video analysis, we'll foster a culture of encouragement and growth, teaching players how to support teammates and stay motivated.
Passion:
What fuels your love for the game! With high-energy drills and inspirational videos, players will connect their passion to drive performance.
Leadership
Campers will develop leadership skills, learning to take initiative and communicate effectively on the field. We’ll explore how mental performance and confidence tie into leadership, giving players a holistic approach to the game
EXCELLENCE
The final day is a celebration of all the skills, both mental and physical, that players have developed. They’ll reflect on how excellence is an ongoing journey, not just a destination.
Each day of camp integrates mental and physical training. Classroom sessions are dynamic, featuring interactive discussions, video breakdowns, and hands-on activities. Players will not only learn techniques but also how to think strategically and stay resilient through setbacks.
Our goal is to prepare your player for soccer – and life – by developing skills that go beyond the field.
-
We focus on teaching soccer from a broad perspective, rather than limiting players to a set of skills tied to a single position. SLA benefits all players—regardless of their position—as long as they are motivated to learn and grow. Furthermore, learning multiple positions during the crucial developmental years of 9-13 offers significant advantages.
-
Improved Tactical Understanding
Playing different positions helps young players understand the game from various perspectives, such as how defenders anticipate attackers or how midfielders control the flow of play. This knowledge makes them smarter players overall, with better decision-making abilities.Avoiding Early Specialization Risks
Focusing on one position too early can lead to burnout or plateauing as players might miss out on developing complementary skills. Additionally, young players’ preferences or strengths might evolve over time. Exploring multiple positions allows them to find their best fit naturally.Increased Versatility
A versatile player is invaluable to any team. Being able to step into different roles as needed not only increases playing opportunities but also makes the player more appealing to coaches at higher levels.Adaptation to Physical and Mental Growth
Between the ages of 9-13, players are still growing physically and mentally. What suits them at age 10 might not be the same when they are older. Exploring multiple roles ensures they are prepared to adapt as their bodies and skills develop.Greater Enjoyment of the GamePlaying different positions keeps the experience fresh and exciting. It challenges players to learn new aspects of soccer and prevents them from feeling stuck or bored in a single role.
